BIOGRAPHY
Through the years Lacey paid her dues singing backup for local Six Nations bands like The Breeze performing cover songs, and has establishing herself as one of only a few female musical talents to roll out album after original album from her community. There is no denying the amount of heart Lacey bleeds into each album; 528 Vol I in 2013, “M” released in 2017 available on iTunes, and 528 Vol II The Moon as her newest independent release October 2022. In between each album, Lacey makes a point of hitting the road with her music and continues to expand her fan base not only locally but internationally with shows in Australia, Edinburgh, New York and central and western Canada.
The world has opened up to live music again and it is definitely opening up for Lacey Hill and her soul soothing, ear arresting talents. She celebrates her newest collection of songs with a rigorous tour which saw her open for Sarah Harmer at the Niagara Amphitheatre, Mentor young talent at the Song Studio Live in Toronto, perform at the Canada Summer Games stage and is part of Sobey’s Day of Reconciliation, the Folk Music Ontario Showcase, as well as doing motivational speaking with her keynote address titled Honouring Your Bundle.
Lacey Hill is also busting down the parameters of what it means to be a musical performer by taking on the lead role in the NDNs on the Airwaves comedy web series 2022 and as a performer and contributor for the Truth and Illusion theatre project at Young Peoples Theatre, Toronto April 2022, with much more to come both musically and artistically.
